Mixing humor and painful subject matter is, naturally, very difficult. The beauty of this movie is that it does so with ease, especially with such good actors in these roles as well. Good review. Check out my review when you can.

I couldn’t agree with you more. As an educator, I lead a similar student support team to help students cope with their own traumatic experiences (especially in a post Hurricane Katrina setting). Even at the most basic level, offering a child a comfortable and open space to ‘feel what they are feeling’ can be a huge asset of support through transitions big and small. I think your story clearly illustrates the importance of helping children to emotionally digest such events. Programs like Rainbows can have a valuable long term impact on a child’s ability to adapt and cope with life’s challenges. Thanks for sharing your amazing story!
